Today was one of the top yoga days I have had in probably years.  First, I was completely brutalized by Johnny Kest and I fell madly in love AGAIN with Vinyasa Flow.  Johnny explained  the only thing we needed to do in his class was to breath and all other things were optional.  I loved that messaging and it inspired me to pour into my breath as I moved through the most beautiful,  inspirational, and intelligent sequencing I think I’ve ever experienced.  I found myself smiling, dancing, clapping, and totally integrated with the yogis around me.  By the end I was soaking wet with sweat.  My clothes were drenched and my hair looked (not so fresh) from a shower.

Totally wiped out and oddly invigorated at the same time I headed to a lecture with Gurmukh who is my teacher from Kundalini teacher training in India.  She lectured about the mind that lives in the heart and we experienced Kirtan Kriya and a beautiful meditation to open the heart.  Gurmukh was super excited about Kirtan Kriya because the Alzheimer’s Research and Prevention Institute just released a clinical study practicing Kirtan Kriya for just 12 minutes a day can improve cognition and activate parts of the brain that are central to memory.  (read here)

The meditation moved me so much and I just cried and cried adding puffy eyes and dripping mascara to my new look.  I got to say hello to Gurmukh who I hadn’t realized how much I missed and she was very interested in what Elemental OM is doing with yoga in Cincinnati.

My lecture for the Pitta Lifestyle was really fun even though I looked like a total mess!  Luckily half the hard-driving Pittas at my presentation were also in the Johnny Kest class so collectively we smelled pretty bad, but were all pretty happy.  I think I got to help some people.  My slideshare is HERE and below if you want to download the routines and food for Pitta.

Finally, the day wrapped up with a BRUTAL and I mean BRUTAL kundalini class led by Gurmukh.  She actually said she was giving us a break because it was the fourth of July.  If I hadn’t spent 28 days in India with Gurmukh, I think I would have been destroyed by the practice, but that’s just the kind of teacher she is.  By the end of it, my heart was on fire and I could literally feel the Kundalini burning through the karma accumulated from the last 1.5 years away from my teacher.  I swear she created the entire event from the lecture to the practice just for me.

So, I sit here happy and exhausted madly in love with yoga, kundalini, Colorado, and yogis worldwide. I’m missing all of you and can’t wait to get home and share some new stuff with you.

OM, Pamela
